My obsession for collecting and customizing miniature diecast cars is becoming somewhat of an affliction. For example, this is most of my Pagani Supercar collection. All have been modified to include rubber tires and some have been repainted. All have been detailed.

You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, car, or bike?
I have always wanted to take a nice leisurely train trip through some great scenic countryside. Someplace like Germany, Switzerland or maybe even France. Something like a two week trip would be perfect. Alas , it’s a bucket list item I probably won’t experience, but I can dream…right?

I think of creativity as a tree that branches into every interaction, every occurrence and point of fascination. Whatever happens in my daily life…I assume that’s a building block for my creative efforts. It might not be relevant all at once, or maybe not even for a span of years, but if it sticks in […]
On my creative process…
What strategies do you use to cope with negative feelings?
This is a HotWheels Mazda MX-5 I have turned to gold. Without glue or modifying the base I have removed the rivets and replaced them with 1/8″ machine screws. I then stripped the car of paint, polished the body and repainted it, along with the base, using a candy orange model paint with an airbrush. The wheels were replaced with 4-spoke Gold Chrome wheels with rubber tires. To complete the remodel, I repainted and detailed the interior.
I love cars and taking a good miniature to make it better gives me great satisfaction. Some collectors would give me grief for opening a collectable car, but I can’t seem to help myself. Call me crazy, I do not care.

I come from a family of do-it-yourselfers. My father was a contractor and I grew up in the business. My family and I built a beautiful home for retirement on 2-1/2 acres. It is a ranch style home with 6 inch studs, a full basement, two car garage, an upstairs laundry room, and a brick front. After twenty-five years of marriage I lost it in the divorce. Come to find out later, the house was situated in a pocket of Radon gas. Everyone who lived there has developed cancer of some sort except my daughter, and she can’t seem to get tested with the healthcare we have in America. She is 42 and hasn’t smoked long enough. Building my own home was a great idea in the beginning, until it wasn’t.
The house has since been remediated for Radon gas, but alas, it was too late. I never thought to test for Radon Gas because the science was just not there yet. I know better now.
My version of a painting hanging in my house. My first attempt at serious painting. During my short military career in Germany, I managed to travel the countryside most weekends. In the small towns scattered across Europe, places like this are common.
