Jonathan G. Meyer is a Midwestern author with a passion for Science Fiction. As the middle child in a family with seven children he was too young for the older kids and too cool for the younger. As a result he spent many hours entranced by books. Traveling to new worlds, exploring alien ships, and adventures with robots became his escape. As often happens, marriage, work, and children kept him from pursuing a hidden passion for writing most of his life.
Jon firmly believes books have the capability to take one to places no other media can quite achieve. With that in mind he wrote his first book after turning sixty. Al Clark; the kind of book he remembers loving in his childhood, was his contribution to the literary world. Something he considered ‘Good Old-Fashioned Science Fiction.’
The success of Al Clark (Book One) inspired him to create books two, three, four, and five, plus two standalones: an Alien Contact Adventure he titled ‘Vincent’, and a Time Travel, Historical Fiction he named A ‘Curious Orb.’
Al Clark (Book Six) (Title to be determined) is in the works.

I am a Portuguese 72 years old and I have just discovered your books, beginning with Al Clark series. I became hooked since the first one. It is really old fashioned good (very good) science fiction.From the litterary point of view, it´s 4,5 in 5. From the point of view of imagination is 5/5. And it shows a very advanced social thinking, an universal and open mind frame. I detected one single mistake: at the end of book one, you put the captain organizing a thanksgiving celebration. You forgot that that is a celebration belonging only to the US and their History. And, as the colonists have been recruited all over the Earth, you should either have imagined an all new celebration or specified thanksgiving should celebrate, from then on, the settlement on Avalon. As for all the rest, your mindframe is absolutely open, universal, advanced. And you write pretty well. One of my daughters is a Portuguese and English teacher and I will tell her to introduce your books to students of the school. Congratulations!

The books I write are intended for all ages, and your comments serve to support my efforts. I started my journey as a writer at 60 years of age, so my heroes in the science fiction field are based on the golden age of Sci-Fi. It feels good to know I am not alone in my passion.
As far as Thanksgiving goes, you are absolutely correct. I wish I had considered the beliefs of the many countries involved before choosing to name the celebration after a strictly American holiday. It has been 7 years since I wrote that first book, Al Clark, and I am still learning every day. Thank you for your support and taking the time to help me improve my craft.
